Restorative Justice: An immersive weekend training
AUGUST 3–5, 2018 • MILLERTON, NEW YORK
This weekends training explores the experience-based understanding of Restorative Justice. We will deepen our knowledge of the foundational components Circle Keeping. TRC trainings are engaging, lively and ever-evolving. We utilize theory based lectures, the interactive circle experience, skill development, mock circles, as well as small and large group discussions. TRC's Newburgh Model Workbook will be distributed to participants.
THE WATERSHED CENTER:
Spend the weekend 100mi from NYC in Millerton, NY. Explore the beautiful 3-acre lake, walking paths, a basketball/tennis court, rec room and hiking trails into a forest lined with waterfalls. The Watershed Center is a 73-acre farm growing the fresh organic veggies, eggs and flowers for our meals. TheWatershedCenter.org
continuING CIRCLE education:
- Reenergize the foundational understanding of this alternative paradigm of community engagement towards non-punitive conflict resolution
- Learn and exchange new ideas for components of the circle, like talking pieces, the phases of a circle, and the use of prompts
- Continue exploring how TRC mines stories to develop empathy and share vulnerability
- Advance developmental skills in communications and the art of circle keeping
weekend training INCLUDES:
- Two-night stay on a 73-acre farm
- 3-acre lake, walking paths, rec room, hike to waterfalls
- Snacks & dinner on Friday
- Breakfast, lunch & dinner on Saturday & Sunday
